The Software Test Technician is responsible for ensuring quality designs through comprehensive requirement testing and validation. Specifically, we are seeking an individual that can develop and execute embedded software and module testing capability strategies to elevate our electrical test methodologies to world-class. In this test technician roll, individuals will have the authority, support, and autonomy to execute the vision as well as establishing themselves as high-respected contributors.

The position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of different components, subsystems and vehicles. The position requires the technical expertise to develop and lead product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards, and conduct projects in accordance with engineering excellence.

Expectations:

  • Full understanding of how to accelerate, correlate and standardize our embedded software test needs

  • Execute a prioritized roadmap of needed Embedded Software test capabilities and execute the strategy

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop schematics, PCB interface boards and test scripts for open loop test bench through Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)

  • Develop and execute test plans on electrical systems from the component level to the vehicle level.

  • Execute the test plan to validate software and controls

  • Automate world class data management and analytics including remote DAQ and CAN networks

  • Determine root cause of embedded software bugs and issues with model to code generation using Matlab/Simulink

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE NECESSARY: 2-3 years

  • Helps develop technical judgment of others within the department

  • Regularly uses advanced decision making tools and techniques

  • Knows when more data is required to make technical decisions

  • Effectively self-manage large projects

  • Able to organize the efforts of a small group of individuals

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required and 2 years' experience in Electrical and/or software testing is required

Essential Skills or Knowledge:

  • Matlab and Simulink

  • HIL knowledge

  • Controls and software capabilities

  • MotoHawk ECU and Pi Innovo or similar

  • Embedded software debug tools

  • Controller and hardware knowledge

  • Strong interest in DAQ (Data Acquisition) equipment and testing methodologies

  • Experience with sensors

  • Modeling and simulation experience

  • Reliability and statistics capability

  • Project management

  • Problem solving (9-step, 8D, etc.)

  • Ability to write software and test scripts

  • Competency in Microsoft products including, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint required

  • Ability to lead a team and work as a member of a team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem solving skills

  • APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) knowledge

  • Must be tenacious with quality and customer service orientation

  • Knowledge of the appropriate product safety and testing standards

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma trained or certified a plus but is not required

  • Thorough understanding of the engineering financial impact and a basic understanding of the needs and impact of other functions on the business

Software Test Engineer Job Summary: Club Car is seeking an energetic and entrepreneurial minded Software Test Engineer II to join our testing team. At Club Car, Software Test Engineers are an integral part of a variety of interesting and challenging projects associated with our next generation vehicle offerings. The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for verification and validation of the integrated system and embedded software solutions for Club Car's next generation EV vehicle platforms. The Software Test Engineer gathers system requirements, contributes to DFMEA, develops DVP&R, creates use cases, test plans and utilizes technical skills to develop test systems to verify and validate embedded software. This includes working with team members and third-party contractors/consultants. This role will simultaneously be involved in multiple projects as well as having direct interaction with customers, Product Management, executives and suppliers/development partners. This individual will be a key contributor in growing our business by balancing risk and reward using advanced test engineering and project management tools. This position offers the opportunity to follow your work from concept to production and will require you to apply both analytical and hands-on skills.
