Otis is seeking a software test engineer who will be involved testing elevator systems that may be comprised of embedded, cloud and/or device application software. Possible future opportunity to lead product test activities or transition to software development.
Interface with various Otis elevator component teams to provide real-time, custom-hardware-centric, embedded software solutions for Otis Elevator controllers
Work on business-impactful tasks testing customer specific features and adherence to regional elevator building codes
Create software test plans/strategies
Create software test procedures
Evaluate opportunities to automate test activities.
Design automated test environments and write test scripts
Execute tests and document results
Facilitate test readiness reviews
Create/Maintain Requirements Verification Matrices
Work closely with software developers on debugging issues with software code and test procedures
Work with engineering centers worldwide for global component integration and test
Experience in software development and test.
Experience with test management tools such as HP ALM, Jira X-ray, or Azure DevOps Test Plans.
Software debugging and testing experience including use of in circuit emulator, remote debugging, scopes, serial line analyzer, CANalyzer or any other tools
Must have strong analytical and communication skills.
Willing to work in a fast-paced changing environment and be able to learn and work with multiple elevator system components in parallel.
Desired familiarity in Agility/Lean - Scrum/SAFe, objected oriented design
Desired familiarity with real-time operating systems
Desired familiarity with scripting languages and desktop tools (e.g., Python, C++, .Net Visual Studio, C#)
The minimal education requirement is a B.S. degree or B.A. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering.
