The Software Test Engineer performs operating system patching and antenna systems software suite verification testing.
This position reports to Manager Software IA Test Engineering.
The Software Test Engineer collates external security patches, executes and documents software regression tests, performs and documents security scans, builds security patch bundle updates and any required Antenna Software updates.
Assists in the test and integration of the Antenna Software products, and may assist in troubleshooting issues with antenna systems in operation.
Works to continuously learn and apply latest software Information Assurance best practices and DOD (Department of Defense) regulations (STIG, RMF, NIST 800-53).
All duties of a Junior Software Test Engineer as noted above.
Maintains and troubleshoots the hardware testing environmLIent.
Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking or other related field and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience with Linux is required. Or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience with C/C .
Must have experience with Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CENTOS) and use of RPM packages and YUM.
Must have basic IT experience.
Must have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Certifications such as A or Network is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate information effectively to both internal and external customers, managers, and technical staff is required.
Must be able to travel 10% of the time.
