Dominion is currently seeking a Software Systems Engineer to join our IT professionals to support the Nuclear Business Unit. There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. This position will be located at our Surry Power Station in Surry, VA. This position will focus on the implementation and maintenance of the nuclear cyber security program.
As part of the IT Nuclear Cyber Security Team, responsible for all cyber activities at the station, including, but not limited to:
Review industry guidance for cyber security and apply principles to critical systems and critical digital assets.
Identify gaps in cyber security controls and recommend technical or administrative solutions to remediate.
Analyze nuclear systems to determine how to implement cyber security controls.
Review Change Management Records and Design Change Packages for cyber security compliance and impacts.
Focus on the development or modifications to cyber security policies, standards, and procedures in support of programmatic requirements to meet our Cyber Security Plan.
Broad knowledge of security principles, practices, procedures, and defense-in-depth techniques.
Provide input in setting objectives, policy, and identifying critical issues.
Make decisions independently in planning, organizing, and conducting work assignments.
Performs scans on all portable media devices
Assist Engineering with Security Controls Analysis as being a part of the CSAT assessment team.
Participate as a member of the Nuclear CSIRT incident response team.
Analyze Level 3 and Level 4 levels for security breaches and assist station with ensuring that Surry Power Station is in compliance with approved NRC Cyber Security Plan
Individual will need to be a part of the Nuclear Critical Group as well as be approved to have access to the nuclear plant.
Provides assistance, advice, and solutions to co-workers.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
3+ years of directly related experience required (network design and security, firewall configurations and management Windows or Linux Security operating systems security)
The sucessful candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, characteristics, experiences, and/or abilities:
Experience with network design and security, firewall configurations and management Windows or Linux Security operating systems security
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment, communicate with other team members or clients and make decisions appropriately after consultation to support assigned projects
Familiar with security principles, and defense-in-depth techniques
Familiar with SCADA or real time systems
Familiar with nuclear security controls analysis
Understanding of Nuclear Cyber Security
Must be dedicated to continuous improvement and implementation of cyber security and cyber compliance best practices to support strategic regulatory compliance objectives for the Nuclear Business Unit
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate the ability to present concepts, options or recommendations in a group setting
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software/collaboration tools
