Description

The Business Technology Analyst (Software Engineer) will work with the Digital Connectivity team to analyze, design, and implement information systems that enable customer connectivity through multiple solutions. The analyst will work with our internal business users and external customers to help identify improvements and needs within our connectivity capabilities. The resource will research and assess the suitability of multiple information systems to help determine the best technologies to support our connectivity goals. The analyst will work with our engineering team to design and develop the defined solutions and bring them to market. The analyst will also work with our connectivity operations team as a change agent to assist with rollout, documentation, and training of these digital solutions. An appreciation for and history of collaboration across multiple teams in technology design is a must. This resource will understand the importance of user-centered design in creating superior solutions.

This role will be a Hybrid work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope, system goals, and requirements around our connectivity offerings.

  • Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize solution requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers to follow

  • Translate highly technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements

  • Evaluate technical solutions to determine if they meet our business objectives.

  • Provide documentation of all processes and training as needed and make that documentation available through business and customer facing portal solutions.

  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures, monitor systems health, gather system statistics, and troubleshoot reported errors and alarms.

  • Assist with definition of best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance.

  • Assist with estimation of timelines and development of roadmaps for planning, budgeting, and execution.

  • Work on multiple concurrent projects and solutions

  • Understand common development delivery methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall, and able to match methodologies to meet business needs.

  • Report to the Director of Connectivity and provide regular input on all projects, including status and updates on a weekly basis.

  • Support the company's safety program, harassment-free work environment policy, and TBC Code of Business Conduct.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in computer science or information technology or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in information technology or business technology analysis.

  • An adaptable and flexible attitude, allowing the ability to approach and solve a problem by examining it from different angles

  • Proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into relevant solutions

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices associated with connectivity technologies like APIs, EDI, Webhooks, etc.

  • Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training, and implementing new applications and systems

  • Working knowledge of a wide variety of API solutions.

  • Excellent capability of understanding business requirements, translating them to architectural needs, and communicating them back out to all stakeholders.

  • Expert knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures (RESTful) and data messaging models (XML, JSON).

  • Strong examination, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Must have excellent attention to detail.

  • The ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills
