Role Summary:

GE Healthcare's Software Engineering team in Computed Tomography (CT) is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to work on a number of exciting projects that will have a big impact on the business and ultimately our customers and patients.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for testing a feature and or a small feature set and contributes to the team while receiving guidance from senior team members, increasing the ability to work independently

  • Break down problems and estimates time for quality related tasks

  • Demonstrate increasing expertise in application domain and functional areas

  • Apply various testing types and methodologies effectively during SDLC

  • Take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary

  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques

  • Work independently and delivers testing and use case creation which meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project

  • Write effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified, and tests remain valid when code is refactored

  • Collaborate with development team in bugs fixing and build plans

  • Collaborate with Quality Leaders in creating test plans

  • Implement and configures testing tools and at times help junior staff

  • Implement system-level integration testing

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the industry

Our Corporate Headquarters in Waukesha, WI, is seeking a Software QA Test Lead to join our Remote Monitoring team. The Software QA Lead is responsible to lead a team of QA testers through the testing process for iPhone, Android and web apps that will enable IoT devices. This position is exected to insure the quality of the entire software application and total product by leading your team through the process of ensuring overall product quality, and certifying the product for release after it passes your stringent review. The QA test function will be included throughout the development process, from design to production not only after development is complete. The position is expected to be well versed in test automation, exploratory testing, web and mobile technologies. closely with the product architect and software development leads but you will be responsible for delivering test cases and test results contained within a defined sprint, drive; continuous integration/build and automated testing that aligns with agile development best practices for you team. Responsibilities * Leads a team of software testers through design and execution of test plans for the assigned project. * Maintains standard processes for capturing software defects in the defect tracking system. * Builds and enforces consistent testing processes throughout the team. * Operates and maintains test networks and environments. * Creates consistent frameworks and patterns for the creation of application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications. * Create meaningful error handling procedures for application code. * Create queries, scripts, web pages and other test artifacts. * Participate in application planning meetings. * Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and system goals to identify and resolve systems issues. * Ensure compatibility and interoperability of the product API with external API consumers. * Maintain technical expertise in emerging trends focused on testing best practices and tools. * Establish best practice for product test. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent experience in the computer science function within a similar working environment. * Minimum 7 years' experience in commercial software development in one or more of the following roles: Testing Analyst, Automation Testing Specialist, Systems Analyst or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: * Testing - HTML5, MQTT, Message Queues, Web Services, Android and iOS devices and websites. * Previous experience testing in high volume transaction systems. * Experience building Load and performance testing environments. * Knowledge of Mobile and Web Security best practices. * Experience working cross-functionally and with a global team.
