Software Quality Engineer-Onsite position

We have an opportunity for a Software Quality Engineer to join our team in Santa Clarita, CA!!

As our Software Quality Engineer, you will review requirements, specifications, and documentation to gain a thorough understanding of the programs and processes to be certified.

You will support the development of deliverable software, firmware, including test equipment software used to verify the requirements for deliverable products.

Location: Santa Clarita, CA

Salary Range - $91,000.00 to $121,350.00 per year

Your Challenge

• SQE is responsible for auditing the project's software development process and reviewing software work products for compliance to applicable standards, procedures, and the Software Development Plan throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Ensures that quality software is provided for release to production.

• Provides or validates estimates for assigned tasks.

• May create and modify test scripts to certify system changes.

• Assists with software configuration management activities (test scripts, source code control, coordination of requirement changes) as required.

• May write trace-ability matrices and test reports.

• Reviews and approves software documents prior to release.

• May prepare and maintain program Software Quality Assurance Plans as required.

• May assist in miscellaneous activities in support of the Quality Management System.

• Provides software metrics, reports, and status updates as required by the program Software Quality Assurance Plans.

• Will witness various software installation and participate in qualification activities.

• May be required to facilitate outside service contracts for SQA activities in accordance with RTCA/DO-178

What you Bring

• Bachelor's Degree

• 4+ years of industry experience in Software Quality Assurance

• Additional industry experience within one or more areas: quality, auditing, manufacturing, engineering and/or software-related field

• Advanced understanding of CMMI and ISO9001/ AS9100 standards

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools

• Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within various software/ firmware /PLD development lifecycles

• Experience translating high level product requirements into software/firmware requirements and specifications

• Experience validating/testing software/firmware for compliance to contract requirements and specifications

• Experience defining software/firmware requirements and test cases

• Experience validating testing of software/ firmware run on embedded systems

• Familiar with object-oriented programming languages, such as Labview, JAVA, C++, VHDL

• Familiar with various scripting languages and CM tools, such as JIRA, Python, Tortoise SVN

• Familiar with firmware debugging, including analysis of results and regression testing

• Familiar with version and configuration control of programming files
