JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Developing the Software Quality Plan.

  • Software Quality Reviews.

  • Ensuring that internally develop requirements satisfy the customer requirements.

  • Ensuring that the detailed design meets internal and customer requirements.

  • Ensuring that unit and integration tests

  • Ensuring that the software validation testing is adequate to ensure compliance to requirements.

  • Ensuring that the proper level of traceability exists between customer, internal requirements and test requirements

  • Tracking and reporting software quality metrics.

  • Assisting in preparing and validating the contents of software delivery documentation.

  • Ensuring that the software development and testing processes are being followed by performing periodic pre-release and release audits.

  • Assisting in entering requirements into the DOORS database

  • Tracking and reporting software anomalies.

  • Participate in software design, unit and integration test reviews.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering.

  • 5+ years of software development/software QA/software quality experience.

  • Working knowledge of the ASPICE and ISO 26262 software development process.

  • Strong experience in generating, tracking and maintaining Software Quality Plans.

  • Working knowledge and establishing SW development release process, processes guidelines, checklist and templates

  • Ability to interpret OEM functional, diagnostic and testing requirements to map to quality records.

  • Knowledge of software reviews, finding gaps or non-compliance in work products, testing process and workflow.

  • Understanding of safety critical systems design.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety requirements compliance in product software.

  • Experience with issue tracking software through configuration/change management

  • Experience with IBM Rational DOORS, JIRA, SVN, RTC etc tool chain that support SW development process.

  • Understanding of configuration management tools.

  • Experience with tracking progress and issues highlighted during HIL and/or Independent test and verification (IT&V).

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education - Bachelor Electrical Engineering/Electronics Engineering Technology/Computer Engineering/Computer Science (minimum)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified/trained ASPICE assessor

  • Established best practices in ASPICE or CMMi

The Engineer is responsible for performing and leading cross-functional groups in systems engineering activities as it relates to developing quality state of the art powertrain propulsion systems. The Engineer will utilize accepted analysis tools to tackle complex systems highlighting areas of potential risk proactively. The position participates in programs across a broad portion of the program timeline, "Vee Process model," ranging from early pre-development "small Vee," validation testing on bench to launches in plant. A successful candidate ensures that proper plans are in place for resources, timeliness and milestones for each project and reports project center status to their supervisor. The position will require the candidate to work across many disciplines to ensure that functional relationships with the propulsion system are understood and potential risks are mitigated. The Engineer will have proven leadership skills and facilitation skills. The candidate will have working knowledge of traditional and electrified propulsion systems allowing them to facilitate a group of engineers in this area of expertise. The job location is in Auburn Hills, MI but will require some travel Basic Qualifications: * BSME, BSEE, BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or equivalent from an ABET accredited university * 5 years of experience in automotive industries and product development of propulsion systems * Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills * Demonstrated background of applied physics and troubleshooting * Thorough understanding of internal combustion engine fundamentals * Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: * MSME, MSEE, MSChemE or Master of Science from an ABET accredited university * Prior experience with engines, transmissions, and electrified powertrains * Qualified Journeyman, Green Belt, or Black Belt knowledge of reactive and proactive problem-solving methods such as Shainin Red X, DFSS or Shainin Resilient Engineering * 15 accumulated Systems Engineering/Applications Engineering experience in automotive industries and product development of propulsion systems Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Auburn Hills MI
