Job Description
Full & complete understanding of industry and government specifications & standards and the requirements contained therein that guide the design, build, & test of software.
Strong understanding of Software Quality Engineering (QE) principles, tools, methods, and standards.
Record of high level of organizational and communication skills, and a capacity for attending to details.
Participate in software design reviews, testing, configuration control, problem reporting & resolution, and change control.
Audit, monitor, evaluate, and report on the software subcontractor activities.
Advise and consult in order to ensure proper flow down of SQA requirements.
Participate in applying and developing/maintaining quality and system protocols for software and materials into deliverable products and completed systems.
Interface with software engineering, software configuration management, software process organizations, and systems engineering, taking a lead role as needed to complete tasks and to ensure quality standards are in place.
Work as part of the software development team during all phases of the software lifecycle assessing the planning for and implementation of the software process for compliance with good engineering practices.
Reviewing software documentation to ensure program requirements compliance, adherence to Ball Aerospace standards, risk mitigation, and completeness; tracking software related action items and change requests with metrics.
Guiding the peer review process; effective test oversight; configuration control oversight; change control oversight; and performing periodic assessments of the software life-cycle activities.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the SBU/SSU and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.

Required Skills/Experience:
8 or more years related experience.
Must be willing to take initiative.
Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Strong interpersonal and project management skills.
Ability to multi-task, plan, and be able to represent SQA in cross-functional meetings and to customers.

Required Education:
BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 8 or more years related experience.
BS in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

The QSC SQA team is looking for a talented and experienced SQA Engineer to support embedded software testing with our system solution products. The Senior SQA Engineer will be part of the QSC Software Quality Engineering team. As a Test Engineer, you will participate in the creation of tests plans, test strategy, running tests, implementing build and test infrastructure, test automation, test lab ownership, ensuring good engineering practices by the team. This position is based in Boulder, Colorado. Education and Experience: * B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in a software quality assurance role. * Embedded Testing/Quality Experience: You have working experience in embedded testing in an Agile development environment. You have a strong interest in End-to-End manual or automation testing. * Proficiency in Selenium, Unified Functional Test (UFT)/Quick Test Pro (QTP), PSTools, AutoIT, Sikuli or any automation tools. * Proficiency in Test Automation design (test harness) and its implementation preferred. * Lab Experience: You will be in charge of Test Lab and will act as the first line of support for Lab related issues. * Attention to Detail: You have a strong attention to detail and are able to think creatively and analytically. * Collaboration: You are comfortable working with other, as you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with global teams. * Excellent verbal and written communication in English and superb organization skills. * Excellent problem-solving skills. * Self-Starter: You do not need anyone to keep you on track. You are organized and efficient. Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop software test plans and test cases, testing and troubleshooting problems as a member of our Q-SYS software development team. * Be an active member of the local scrum team in Boulder, and act as a conduit for all project related communication with global SQA members. * Partner with subject matter experts, QSC engineers, and third-party engineers to understand test case business requirements and apply that knowledge when developing tests of your own design. * Ownership of Lab infrastructure and act as a support Engineer. * Participate in the software development process and report issues in our defect tracking system (JIRA). * Provide additional information to the development team to expedite debugging. * Other duties as assigned.
