Job Summary:

To support KBI's digital transformation, the Digital Product Owner III leads the creation and/or the expansion of one of our digital products which supports one or more of KBI's business units to sustain or improve the efficiency of the processes of that business or the company as a whole. This leadership role in our Digital Transformation journey bridges our company's processes (business and/or scientific), the software provider, and other global groups involved in Digital Transformation, including other branches of IT at the KBI and JSR level.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the product's Executive Sponsor (ES) to understand the product's vision, its business value and how to realize that business value.

  • Translate the vision into a series of product releases that will deliver the business value to the target departments/end-users.

  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the Solution Architect (SA) to translate KBI workflows into developable features (or configurations for already built solutions).

  • Work with the software development/configuration team to identify features that will require business workflow changes. Work with the ES and the target department to communicate, evaluate and implement workflow changes when required.

  • Build, prioritize and maintain a backlog of product features/improvements. Ensure constant clarity in terms of what is to be executed next by the development/configuration team.

  • Attend all meetings to support the development/configuration team, communicate on the vision each story is part of and resolve execution blockers. Regularly present completed work to all stakeholders.

  • Support the ES in promoting the product's vision internally at KBI. Update, document and communicate to all stakeholders on the product's roadmap and the product's progress.

  • Support the product's deployment to end-users. Collect end-user and other stakeholder's feedback and alter the product's roadmap to take their feedback into account.

  • Evaluate and schedule the business impact of releases/upgrades. Coordinate, communicate, and support their execution.

  • Work with the software developers/provider and the IT department to review and validate the product's security.

  • Be the point of contact for audit questions related to product validation, if applicable.

  • Develop (if needed) and manage user training for product use/access, if applicable.

  • Effective Governance incorporating best practices and leveraging Agile methodologies.

  • Effectively communicate (both verbal & written) with business team members and leaders, as well as Senior Management on occasion.

Minimum Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or related field or a Bachelor's degree and 2 additional years of experience in a product owner role.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience and proven track record as a Product Owner. In that or an equivalent role, proven track record of product design, gathering requirements through interviews, data analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis, ideally at the interface with (life) science.

  • Minimum of 2 years in a pharma regulated (FDA) environment.

  • Excellent skills gathering requirements through interviews, data analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with an ability to understand and explain complex processes and scenarios in a simple manner.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain strong relationships with end-users, stakeholders, and clients.

  • Customer focus with the emotional intelligence to collaborate with users to gather requirements to enable workflow and feature definition.

  • A passion for technology and an appreciation for the incredible work our scientists and engineers do.

  • Preferred experience with operating within Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum).

Salary Range for Product Owner III: $113,000-$156,000

Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
