Job Summary Software Performance Quality Engineer - Specialist
Responsibilities
Designs quality assurance and test processes for subsystems of end-user applications, systems software, and performance running on hardware, local, networked, and Internet-based platforms.
Analyzes performance design and determines test scripts, coding, automation, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
Writes and executes complete performance testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application.
Identifies and debugs, and creates solutions for performance issues with code and integration into software and firmware architecture.
Performs code reviews and participates in design discussions to identify potential performance quality issues.
Analyzes performance testing processes and suggests improvements for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of QA activities.
Leads projects with performance software quality assurance engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable and cost-effective testing and quality assurance solutions for assigned applications portion or subsystem.
Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding performance test status, project progress, and issue resolution.
Represents the software quality assurance performance team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
Education & Experience Recommended
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in software quality assurance, test harnesses and QA focused tools, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
