BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB

This position is a Microsoft licensing expert and has a granular understanding of specific licensing programs and the nuisances within them. This position works with Insight Sales Team and clients to understand the clients' licensing needs and recommends the appropriate licensing solution as part of the recommendations, there may be extensive and exhaustive analysis and comparison of licensing options and is a skilled presenter with the ability to engage VP's, SVP's, CIO, CFO, and all other C level individuals.

This position supports Insight Sales Teams through on-site customer meetings when required, leading executive briefings, providing customer solutions and conference calls and plays a significant role in responding to software specific portions of customer Request for Proposal (RFP) documents.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Provide expert answers to pre-sales and post-sales licensing questions for Insight Sales Teams and Clients.

  • Participate in on-site customer meetings, leading executive briefings, providing customer solutions and conference calls

  • Serve as a Microsoft licensing expert at Insight.

  • Develop and maintain expertise on Microsoft products, programs, competition and the industry

  • Provide assistance in closing specific business opportunities

  • Drive sales goals through direct customer contact

  • Identify specific business opportunities during customer conference calls and upsell where applicable.

  • Work with Account Executives on lead opportunities provided by the manufacturer

  • Communicate and provide feedback to Insight Product Manager and Manufacturer Representatives regarding sales/competition trends, and product awareness via weekly meetings

  • Due to the ever-changing nature of our industry, constant education is necessary to keep abreast of the software solutions offered by manufacturers and their direct competitors. This will be accomplished through reading material on manufacturer websites, attending webinars and training sessions, and by participating in meetings with manufacturer representatives.

  • Identifies and take part in training and certification programs that will support the technical, product, and industry training necessary to successfully win the confidence of Insight sales executives and customers and increase revenue in the manufacturers assigned.

  • Travel required for this role (approximately 10%)

  • Additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred

  • Having a manufacturer or industry certification is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years of software industry experience required.

  • Minimum of 3 years successful sales experience is required.

  • Customer service or support background is also desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Computer hardware/software knowledge is required. The willingness and ability to self learn much of the software licensing information that will be necessary to serve as a resource for Insight Account Executives is required. Excellent oral and interpersonal skills are a must. Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills are also desired.

In addition, knowledge of the sales process combined with the ability to establish and maintain rapport with both internal and external customers is needed. This position must understand the Insight objectives and possess the ability to make decisions and undertake actions that balance customer needs with available product solutions and company policies.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from sales associates, sales managers or customers. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must and proven telephone skills are required.

This position will work directly with Specialty Groups, Product Marketing, Inside Sales Reps (ISRs/CSR's), and Account Executives in the execution contractual True-Ups and Renewals, orchestrated by means of Touch Plan deliverables. In addition to execution of the Touch Plan, this position will support the CLEAR Advantage Help Desk servicing both internal and external Clients to address a variety of customer Licensing needs, facilitating successful issue remediation from start to finish and also collaborate as needed to support additional Software, Hardware, and Services opportunity identification, and coordinate Insight recommendations and offers in support of the appropriate solution. This position will typically be expected to communicate with a diverse group of end users such a, IT Professionals, Training Departments, and Managers utilizing a variety of media as designated in support of the appropriate offering. Through coordination and collaboration with Insight resources, the CLEAR I will convey licensing information and positioning of Insight's value proposition.
