COLSA Corporation is seeking candidates for a Software Engineer to join its Software Factory in Huntsville, Alabama.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Designs, develops, tests and implements complicated and difficult software programs *

  • Analyzes user's software program needs and assists in troubleshooting *

  • Design and develops software using basic compilers, assemblers, utility programs and operating systems *

  • Performs systems modeling, simulation and analysis *

  • Advises hardware design engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems

  • May provide input for documentation of new or existing programs

Required Experience

  • Bachelors' degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or other related field or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5-8 years related experience

  • Working knowledge of desktop applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs

  • Working knowledge of current operating systems and programming languages

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance

  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • System Administration in Linux and/or Windows operating systems.

  • Experience Docker Container Orchestration/Clustering using Jenkins, TravisCI, Atlassian Bamboo, CircleCI, or other CI/CD tools.

  • Familiar with toolchains and frameworks for securing devops infrastructure using OWASP and/or static analysis tools.

  • Experience Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving system problems and suggesting possible performance tuning.

  • Experience with File Management, and Command Line Structure, Packaging, and Cots Integration.

  • Designing, coding and testing related to infrastructure automation and application deployment.

  • Experience with developing process, policies and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution

  • Experience with integrating applications with 3rd party features like active directory/LDAP authentication and Microsoft single sign-on

Reviews, provides feedback on, and facilitates the delivery of a JFAC-produced security posture/report detailing the results of the software scans and any recommended software changes to the customer. Coordinates with personnel from a DoD Joint Federated Assurance Center (JFAC) to distinguish true findings from false positive findings.<br /> Provides expertise and support in radar algorithm development, object-oriented (OO) programming concepts, experience peer-reviewing code, debugging, code maintenance, large code applications, and practical knowledge of OO design, analysis, requirements, and coding. Employs the ability to be an effective communicator and to work both independently and in multidisciplinary team environments.<br />  <br /> <strong>Required:</strong> Bachelor’s degree in technical software related field. Minimum 3 years related software experience.<br /> <br /> <strong>Preferred</strong>: Operational test and/or SW test experience on MDA systems (GME, THAAD, AEGIS, LRDR, C2BMC).
