In support of our mission, we are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our team. Our software engineering team will develop digital experiences to transform ideas into products that form delightful human connections. We build and support the technologies that power the digital side of our business, from our customer facing website to our companion app to order fulfillment.

You should be a highly technical, thoughtful people manager who will work closely with Digital Product, Hardware, and Marketing teams to create and ship scalable product experiences. You will report to the CTO and be based in our Boston office. Our Droplette team is fun, innovative, and willing to roll up their sleeves to help their team succeed in a fast-paced environment. What youll do:

  • Build & manage a team of software engineers (many of whom may be remote)
  • Plan, strategize, execute, and own overall success of complex technical projects including development of a companion app for the Droplette technology
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management to design and develop customer facing digital experiences, APIs, and backend systems
  • Recruiting and career development of team members
  • Be a technical leader and contributor to projects, including coding, code reviews, and architectural discussions
  • Help iterate on our software development and agile processes

What We Seek

  • 5+ years of experience developing and deploying advanced web based applications and services into staging and production environments
  • 2+ years of experience managing teams of software engineers
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Firm understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methodology
  • Mobile app development experience (preferred)
  • Extensive full stack experience with languages such as Ruby on Rails and Javascript (node, React, Backbone)
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, Heroku, or similar IaaS or PaaS providers
  • Familiarity and experience with Shopify
