Software Engineering Manager

Software Engineering Manager - Macedonia, OH - Onsite

We are seeking a Software Engineering Leader to lead a software team and spearhead new software project initiatives. This division creates high powered lens technology that go into telescopes for space, rocks and more. The ideal candidate will integrate seamlessly with the business, leading a software team by leveraging both technical and leadership skills to manage and oversee the functions of each team member. The biggest customer is the government currently, but this team is faced with the opportunity to gain more customers at this stage of their technology development.

Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Working with other team leads, internal customers, and execs to determine their needs in support of business goals

• Proactively initiating solutions to current and future challenges, guiding, growing

• Managing the daily functions and technical direction of 6-7 direct reports

• Collaborating with three sister teams (A.I, Manufacturing Automation, I.T).

• Make necessary budget decisions

• Utilize any and all resources to build out future engineering teams

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related Software degree (Masters preferred)

• Proven people leader and manager. Must have had direct reports.

• Software Architect experience - -Need to be able to architect solutions through process mapping

• Software experience: Backend such as Python, SQL etc, data infrastructure development

• Must be extremely goal oriented, able to take initiative with a sense of urgency
