DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions.

Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development. Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.

Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.

Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineering, Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineering, Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Linux; Unix; Agile SDLC; J2EE; Java; Javascript; SQL; Apache Tomcat; REST; Maven; JSON; MongoDB; Oracle; GIT.

Job Location: 8181 Communications Pkwy, Plano, TX 75024. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
