As a Software Engineering Intern at AXS, you will be contributing to and enhancing various AXS.com features. Your responsibilities will range from developing high performance backend APIs to jQuery based client side interactions. You will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with our talented Engineering team and other interns, experimenting with the latest technologies to constantly innovate and improve AXS technology stack.
A day in the life
Get hands-on experience working closely with our product, design and engineering teams to deliver best-in-class fan experiences for AXS web and mobile properties
Write server-side code for web-based applications, create robust high-volume production applications
Architect and develop AXS APIs, to serve internal apps, mobile platforms and partners
Analyze and optimize UI and back-end application code for efficiency and performance
What you bring to the table:
Currently enrolled in B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related field
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills
Exposure to object-oriented (C#, PHP, Java, Objective-C, Swift, etc.) and/or web frameworks (node.JS, React)
Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
Some experience building software outside of the classroom environment like an internship, hackathon, research project or related experience preferred
What happens next:
Well be accepting applications through November 2018. Interviews will take place in January 2019 and we anticipate making our hiring decisions by end of March 2019. Our 10-week summer program will run from mid June through August 2019.
