The Red Hat Cost Management Engineering team is looking for an intern with a passion for open source software to join us in Durham, NC. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop features for an open source project in collaboration with an experience team of passionate engineers. You will work in an fast-paced, agile, and team-oriented environment.
Primary job responsibilities
Implement features in Python (including unit and integration tests) and contribute them upstream
Partner closely with Quality Engineering to ensure that contributions are tested correctly
Enhance internal tools and processes around the continuous building and testing of the project
Work with other teams across the Red Hat portfolio
Currently studying an IT-related area
Familiarity with Python and Python frameworks
Basic knowledge of git and GitHub, GitLab, or other collaborative code forges
Familiarity with testing frameworks and why they should be used
Eager to continuously learn new technologies
Familiarity with the following are considered a plus:
Open source projects
REST and messaging technologies
Relational Database Systems and SQL
Public Clouds like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Engine
Kubernetes and OpenShift
