Shutterfly's CGD (cards/gifts/decor) Creation Path team is seeking a passionate and experienced intern with solid computer science fundamentals to make a significant contribution to this engineering team. This is a 12-week Summer 2019 internship, based at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and development of highly dynamic and interactive JavaScript web-based UIs

  • Collaborate with product managers, interaction designers, operations, and other members of the project team in requirements specification, feasibility analysis, and detailed engineering analysis and launch planning

  • Design and build UI components to support core Shutterfly features, applications and products

  • Design and build micro services infrastructure to support the Shutterfly clients on multiple platforms

Requirements include:

  • Pursuing a BS or MS degree in computer science or related technical field

  • Passionate about new UI frameworks

  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns

  • Basic object-oriented design and modeling in Java, PHP or other OO languages

  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  • A passion to win, innovate and be a team-player

  • Solid understanding of how the web works

Our group develops AI and data driven solutions to game team problems, as well as common AI infrastructure for use in every facet of the company. From data modeling to agent building, we utilize a modern, cloud-based tech stack with best-in-class tools to provide solutions and platforms empowering the future state of game development, marketing, sales, and player experience.
