Overview:

Talcott is seeking an IT intern to support our Information Technology department, as a Software Engineering Intern.

We are looking for a student currently pursuing a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree willing to join our summer IT internship program. We are looking for a student who is a motivated problem solver ready to engage in meaningful work. The ideal candidate will get hands-on experience in SQL and Python technologies in order to develop software solutions. Interns will work with other Software Engineers to analyze data, provide project support, and/or potentially develop code for Talcott's Annuity Administration portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Analyze data/requirements and translate into technical specifications

• Analyze, design, and develop software programs aligned to the portfolio using SQL and Python

• Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, business users, project managers, and others to bring the planned outcome to closure

• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement

• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

• Someone looking for real world customer and partner facing experience to help build their skills in pursuit of their bachelor's degree program

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Professional and positive attitude

• Team oriented with the ability to work well independently

• Nice to Have: Experience with SQL and Python

Compensation:

The hourly pay rate for this position is $25.00 per hour.
