The Services Hub is the premium online service powering the multi-billion-dollar Microsoft Premier and Unified Support business. The portal allows our largest business customers to digitally engage their support benefits such as support ticket management, support account team engagement, on-demand education services, and on-demand IT assessments running on Azure. We are seeking an experienced Director \ Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead ASD development group. This manager will be the lead for our entire software engineer function as well as manage a team of development managers. The group is chartered with full architecture and engineering development of the Services Hub platform including its online portal, underlying Azure microservices, the content authoring service, the AI machine learning engine for customer recommendations, the data architecture and BI, and the AI Bot for customer interaction. This role will work closely with our Engineering PM team for research and UX design and will work closely with our Content Engineering team on creating innovate IP content solutions for our online service library.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of people management of software engineers
  • 5+ years full stack development experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of people management of software engineers

  • Leadership experience on an engineering team growing and guiding developers

  • 7+ years of experience with the .NET framework (C#, ASP.NET, XML)

  • 3+ years of experience with UI technologies (WPF or CSS/JS, etc.)

  • 2+ years of designing and shipping modern web applications

  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure and SQL Azure

  • Creative and self-motivated developer with excellent coding, design and communication skills

  • A BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is preferred

Location/Travel: You will be based in Issaquah, WA, near Microsoft HQ in Redmond WA. Travel will be minimal if any for this role.

As the Director of Software Engineering Manager, your duties include:
