Design, develop, modify and debug high performance Web services for next generation of auto insurance products and services using C#/ASP.NET. Design and maintain large scale production application and data platforms.

Apply knowledge of all phases of software lifecycle to successfully deploy applications through the development, QA, and production stages. Design and develop application supporting parallel processing, data loading on large scale production environment. Analyze existing and develop new auto insurance rating integrity solutions requiring extensive analysis and applying strategic solutions.

Improve operational process through innovative methods and enhancements to the existing solutions. Work with relational databases, handling database design, schema definition and writing SQL stored procedures, triggers, advanced SQL queries. Drive and leading migration of legacy products and applications to next generation platforms involving project planning and developing scripts to support migration.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications or other computer related field.

Three (3) years of experience with the following: Web application or web service development. Web infrastructure, distributed systems, and component-oriented software engineering using C#, ASP.NET, MVC, web services, SQL Server.

Working with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and XML, and JSON. Large-scale production systems. Web development including database design, performance optimization.

Parallel processing, asynchronous applications. Also required is demonstrated knowledge of SOA fundamentals such as REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, Message Queues; and demonstrated knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

Reporting to Caravan Studios' Director of Product Development, this hands-on role will contribute to the development of Caravan Studios' award-winning apps and technology platform for social good. Please note: this is a full-time, 12-month temporary position. Duties and Responsibilities * Full stack web and mobile application development, in collaboration with technology partners, vendors, and open-source developer communities. * Development of platforms and APIs to collect and share data and to facilitate the rapid development of community-scale applications. * Oversight and monitoring of production systems, including planning and management of code releases. * Engage, collaborate, and exchange knowledge and code with software developer communities, both online and offline. * Research, adopt, and evangelize innovative technologies and tools that have particular relevance to the communities served by Caravan Studios. * Stay informed about the technology developments and best practices pertinent to social benefit sector. Qualifications * At least four years of software development experience. * Strong background in full stack JavaScript development, with a focus on Angular or React, Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. * Ability to work with cross-functional teams to translate community requirements into product specifications. * Experience designing and developing mobile apps strongly preferred. * Have familiarity with and enjoy learning and using a wide variety of technologies. * Experience working with distributed teams in various time zones. * Familiar with open source protocols. * Demonstrated effective verbal communication in one-on-one and group settings. * Demonstrated effective written communication. * Highly self-motivated, self-directed and detail-oriented. * Passion for self-learning and problem-solving.
