Software Engineer - U-2 - Level 3

Description:This position is for a senior level Software Engineer supporting the U-2 Avionics Technical Refresh Program (ATR) within the historic Skunk Works Organization.

The U-2 ATR team is a diverse set of hardware and software engineers working to design, develop, prototype, and integrate cutting edge technologies. You will be expected to take and provide technical direction, as well as guidance from senior engineers and execute to completion.

A willingness to learn, analyze complex technical information, and the ability to take initiative and ask questions are characteristics that will make the selected candidate successful.

Must be a US citizen. This position requires special access and an interim Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience with C/C++ programming languages

Experience with UNIX/Linux development environment

Experience with Agile methodologies

Experience with Git, GitLab, and CI/CD concepts

Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Desired Skills:

Familiar with Real Time Operating System (RTOS) / deterministic system design

Experience with OpenGL, Gtk, Qt

Frontend development experience

Avionics experience

Aerospace experience

Experience with virtualization, containers, and container deployment

Experience with Python

Experience with the networking stack in Linux

Experience integrating software in an embedded hardware environment

Experience with software integration conducted with software from multiple different teams

Familiar with software development process (CMMI Level 3 or equivalent)

Written and verbal communication

Understanding of software engineering best practices

Experience with googletest

Experience with cmake, g++

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $85,900 - $164,600 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $98,800 - $186,100. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
