Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Aviation and Missile Center's (AvMC) Integrated Defense Planner (IDP) Lab. The role includes a variety of software engineering tasks to support the development and maintenance of key government-owned software products.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and document software solutions
• Support process development and architectural evolution of CTS, RiPiTT, and CATANA tools
• Develop containerized, cloud-based solutions for Ballistic Missile Defense Planning
• Collaborate as part of an agile team, prioritizing development tasks as program needs evolve
• Share knowledge of CATANA's architecture and source code with the team to ensure proficiency in building, testing, and releasing software
• Participate in both remote work and in-person lab sessions for meetings and sensitive data access

Job Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• 5+ years software development experience using TypeScript language
• Experience developing and deploying containerized software using Kubernetes
• Experience developing software for DoD customers (e.g. U.S. Army, MDA)
• Strong knowledge of CATANA software, including architecture and implementation as well as existing build, test, and release processes.
• Experience building CI/CD automation in support of DevSecOps principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able operate in an Ubuntu Linux environment
• Must be able to support in-person activities at IDP Lab during standard business hours as needed by the program.
• U.S. Citizen with Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• 10+ years software development experience
• Experience with MDS Defense Planning
• Experience with C2BMC Defense Designer or other Defense planning systems
• Familiarity with NATO missile defense systems
• Familiarity with CIXS (Common IAMD XML Schema)
• Git/GitLab experience is a plus
• Familiarity with software test activities
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
