The Cisco Webex Team is transforming how people communicate globally and driving productivity to unprecedented levels through enhanced user experience and cloud-enabled workflows. We are seeking a technical leader to coordinate the efforts of a global team of engineers, developers, architects on the various layers of the infrastructure for our Webex applications.


  • Coordinate large software efforts across a distributed team

  • Develop and implement engineering initiatives to continually improve product quality and software delivery

  • Work with global engineering team to translate product requirements into engineering requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineering team to design and launch new features.

  • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications.

  • Maintain code integrity and organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 12+ years' experience in software development, with 5+ years in leadership positions

  • Developer who understands Java, Back-end frameworks

  • Knowledge of cloud computing and cloud functions

  • Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.

  • Proficient experience using advanced Spring Framework libraries and asynchronous processing

  • Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git

What You'll Do

  • You'll provide architectural leadership, direction, and oversight to the development team. Your core job mission is to be the technical leader that leads the transformation of the current software stack into a high performing low latency service. Design, implement, and maintain micro-services, and programmatic interfaces for systems integration, with necessary levels of security and performance. Provide occasional after-hours support for production upgrades and troubleshooting support for escalated incidents related to assigned projects.

Who You Are

  • You've excellent both written and verbal communication to get your point across to the diversified remote team. You've experience designing micro-services, programmatic interfaces for system integration, with necessary levels of security and performance. Our minimum requirements for this role:

  • More than five years of hands-on experience with designing and implementing Java-based highly-scalable cloud applications and micro-services using the latest public cloud services

  • 8-10 years of practical experience with object-oriented analysis and design is required
