Software Engineer (Sync/Pdi)

1WorldSync is the industry leader in product content management. With approximately 600 employees across the US, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, and the UK, we're seeking a Software Engineer to support our growing global team.

Reporting directly to our Senior Software Engineer, the Software Engineer will support the Sync/PDI product and build tools to make integrations run seamlessly. As a customer-driven product, the Software Engineer will be responsible for handling projects directly related to customer requirements and requests.

As Software Engineer at 1WorldSync, responsibilities include the following:

• Continuously acquire knowledge and experience on existing frameworks and tools staying updated with industry trends and best practices to contribute effectively to projects

• Maintain existing java programs to support business processes, including building out functionality to save time and effort with new integrations

• Make enhancements to support customer implementations based on customer requirements and specifications

• Create automated QA tests to ensure application consistency through building and organizing test cases

• Provide assistance deploying, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting the pre-production environment

• Manage third level support requests, providing assistance to the front line support team

• Engage in team activities and processes such as code reviews, knowledge sharing, decision-making and project planning meetings to foster collaboration and collective ownership of deliverables

• Follow industry and team development guidelines and best practices including coding conventions, version control workflows and testing methodologies, to ensure consistency, maintainability and code quality across projects.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools and methodologies through constructive feedback, innovative ideas and proactive involvement in process refinement and initiatives

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years of relevant Java experience and delivering software as a team member

• JPA

• JAX-RS

• Guice

• JXLS

• SQL

• 1+ year HTML/Javascript/CSS

• 1+ year XML Mapping

• Creating XML files from various data sources

Desired Skills and Experience:

• VueJS experience recommended

• Some experience with a templating engine recommended

• Linux Administration, including familiarity with Debian/Ubuntu and shell scripting (Bash/Python)

• Excel (Formatting/ Conditional Formatting, Formulas)

• Google Cloud Platform or AWS (Compute Engine, CloudSQL, Load Balancing)

• Team player with excellent work habits and interpersonal skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Details:

• This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days per week at our Chicago headquarters location.

• This role requires the candidate to have the authority to work in, and be located in the US.

• This position requires up to 5% travel.
