JOB SUMMARY
Marriott has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer on the Loyalty Engineering team. Candidate will work across multiple products & engineering teams as technical expert to deliver incremental value against Loyalty Platform roadmap. Perform research, analysis, design, creation, and implementation of applications to meet current and future user requirements. Help develop proof-of-concept implementations to help evaluate cutting-edge technology to drive and meet Marriott business & technology objectives. Candidate must have the ability to communicate upward to superiors and laterally to other departments.
Candidate will set technical standards and develop reusable frameworks to ensure consistent and efficient creation of Loyalty capabilities and products. Candidate will also assume technical ownership of Service Provider deliverables and lead their technical resources to ensure deliverables are of high quality, follow our technical standards & best practices and perform at scale. In addition, candidate will research emerging technologies that will provide future capabilities as well as seek solutions for complex technical issues. You will make decisions on complex, non-routine requests to support analytics based decisioning by Marriott business teams.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
10+ years' hands on experience developing applications at enterprise scale in multiple programming languages and methodologies
5+ years' technical delivery ownership of large-scale enterprise applications, application development tools
Strong technical leader with proven ability to lead Service Provider technical resources
Strong communication skills
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience/certification
Preferred:
5-10 years' experience in software development with experience in Mainframe/DB2, Java/JEE, Relational / No-SQL Databases and application development.
Worked on initiatives to implement Microservices by applying best practices in the industry.
Working knowledge in API, Microservices, Webservices, Rest APIs, and Application Development involving databases such as DB2, Couchbase, and Cassandra
Experienced in conceptual and logical models based on the project requirements.
Worked extensively with Oracle/SQL Server/Teradata/DB2/Snowflake databases.
5-10 years' experience in building extensive ETL mappings/Pipelines which includes the logic for data movement from source systems into staging area and then finally into Data warehouse with the incremental/full load logic and the ETL methodology.
5-10 years' experience in building complex mappings for extracting the data from different source systems using Informatica, SSIS, Qlik, and PL/SQL stored procedures.
Experienced in Data integration/replication using Qlik/Informatica ETL Tools
Experienced in Identifying the deadlock and implementing performance tuning on existing ETL processes.
Experience in building a KPI Dashboard using Reporting tools like Cognos/Spotfire/Power BI.
Performed Data Analysis on business reports and requirements.
Implemented data quality process by performing Validation, Standardization, Enrichment and Cleansing
Capable of performing requirement analysis and high-level solution design, resource-based and API specification development.
Experience working in an agile development environment.
Must be results oriented having demonstrated technology leadership experience in developing cutting edge technology.

Follows all defined IT standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk
Ability to assess when risks need to be escalated to right channels.

Service Provider Management
Validates that Service Providers develop and manage respective aspects of a project plan, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.
Makes short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources
Monitors Service Provider outcomes
Reviews estimates of work effort for client project provided by Service Providers for accuracy
Facilitates timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes the impact to clients

California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $209,169 annually.
Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $190,154 annually.
Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $116,205 to $209,169 annually.
New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $209,169 annually.
Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $209,169 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
