What you'll do in your role.

As a software engineer in the P&T organization, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Craft reliable and performant software products and features in a variety of popular software languages

  • Build data persistence solutions for software products, with the chance to work with and learn multiple data stores (including Postgres, Mongo, Redis, Cassandra) as well as event streaming platforms (including RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS)

  • Lead the end-to-end solution with the team, from unit tests to CI/CD pipelines to deployments to monitoring and security.

  • Go broad AND deep: work on front-ends and back-ends, automate tests and infrastructure, build CI/CD pipelines

  • Not just write code, but learn how to deliver your code to production and explore extending your skills into site and system reliability areas of focus!

  • Learn and help others learn modern practices such as test-driven development, pair programming, automation, async communication, and more

  • Contribute to and learn patterns to build reliable n-tier architectures

  • Sharpen your skills by getting hands on with your team at all levels of the stack - and all parts of the process

  • Grow your skills as an engineer by collaborating with peers in an organization that defaults to InnerSource development principles.

The experience you'll bring.

  • 3+ Years Technical engineering experience

  • Experience with one or more of the following (and the willingness and ability to learn the others given the option): Golang, Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, Java

  • Ability to learn or existing familiarity with Git-based source code management systems (UI and/or CLI); Runtimes and UI frameworks including NodeJS, React, and/or Angular; Containerization (Docker); Microservices architecture, RESTFUL APIs, and GraphQL; Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and PaaS (PCF - Cloud Foundry)

  • Ability to complete a pair programming session with a senior developer as guide and mentor

  • Self-driven and able to work well with a team.

  • Willingness to become part of our team of experts supporting our customers with the technology that keeps them connected.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience required.

Travel:

  • May require up to 20% of domestic overnight travel within the region, and occasional trips to the Bellevue Headquarters.

Project Information: Bechtel NS&E is on the Northrop Grumman Corp. team preparing to deliver the U.S. Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) system of inter-continental ballistic missiles and launch infrastructure. GBSD is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation's aging force of inter-continental ballistic missiles, which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman GBSD nationwide team, Bechtel will provide launch system design, construction, and integration. A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. Position Overview: This position is for a Revit MEP (Mainly Electrical) Designer/Engineer who will prepare Revit 3D designs associated with DOD and USAF projects. This role will specifically support the USAF Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. The GBSD program is the weapon system replacement for the Minuteman III missile systems. Our team is supporting Northrop Grumman and the USAF's nuclear deterrence mission to modernize this ground-based leg of the nuclear triad. This position is responsible for direct production of design work by Bechtel as well as for coordinating the scope and integration of work. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Building layout in 3D Revit model environment. * Modeling of mainly Electrical components but may include piping, HVAC, and equipment in a 3D Revit model environment. * Preparation of drawings/documents for Floor plans. * Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical-related disciplines. * Perform coordination review of specifications and other documents prepared by others. * Utilize knowledge of OSHA and electrical codes. * Hands-on experience using Revit Architecture/MEP and drawing generation. Basic Qualifications: * Level 1: * Designer - AA/AS degree or certification in an engineering curriculum or drafting/design with 8 years experience, or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and a minimum of 12 years related experience. * Engineer - BS degree in engineering with 6 years of experience. * Level 2: * Designer - AA/AS degree or certification in an engineering curriculum or drafting/design with 11 years experience, or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and a minimum of 15 years related experience. * Engineer - BS degree in engineering with 9 years of experience. * Possess active security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance. * US Citizenship required (No dual citizenship). Minimum Qualifications: * Hands-on experience using Revit MEP for electrical design/layout, drawing generation. * Knowledge of OSHA and electrical codes. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous Bechtel project experience. * Previous DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or NASA project experience.
