Software Engineer, Rates Solution Developer (Ion Sme)

Your role

Are you passionate about delivering new and exciting solutions to support the Fixed Income Rates and Credit trading desks? Are you motivated to deliver real business value whilst ensuring existing functionality remains intact?

We're looking for a Software engineer / Rates Solution Developer (ION SME) to:

• develop solutions to key business challenges using the ION tools at our disposal and elicit key information from business, transforming these into concise IT requirements and manage UAT and demonstration sessions with key business leads
• collaborate with other global IT teams and assist production operations team in rollout and production support
• design, develop, and improve the digital products and technology services we provide to our clients and employees
• apply a broad range of software engineering practices, from analyzing user needs and developing new features to automated testing and deployment, ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements
• build observability into our solutions, monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues
• understand, represent, and advocate for client needs, share knowledge and expertise with colleagues , help with hiring, and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities

Your expertise

• ideally 5+ years of ION core platform, AQ, NegLib etc. knowledge to an SME Level
• ideally 5+ years of ION MMI knowledge to an SME Level
• solid understanding of bond pricing using PXE and solid understanding of Rates and Credit Bonds and derivatives products
• detailed understanding of the nuances of trading venues such as Bloomberg, TradeWeb
• ideally 2 years experience of integration of ION with Kafka
• solid Unix, SQL
• experience in automated testing and continuous integration would be a plus
• experience of Python, Perl and other scripting languages is a plus
