Software Engineer Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain analytics and software applications, following company standards for software engineering process to design, develop, document, review, test, inspect, and release code.

Provide guidance on architecture and design, and define processes for launching solutions and features.

Build software in the Meta stack using primarily Hack, JavaScript (+React) and Python, producing high quality code with good test coverage with modern abstractions and frameworks.

Use engineering skill sets in a business organization to drive meaningful business impact by looking at problems through an operational lens.

Partner with cross-functional product and analytics teams to influence and contribute to the direction of large scale strategic projects as well as solve operational problems at scale.

Communicate progress and plans, raising critical issues with peers, manager, and cross-functional partners in a timely manner.

Lead and participate in critical technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across the organization and company.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 24 months of experience involving the following:
  1.Design and maintain scalable and flexible codebase

2.Performing code review and providing constructive feedback and direction to more junior Software Developers

3.Python, PHP, or Haskell

4.Relational databases and SQL

5.Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)

6.Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS as evidenced by file manipulation, advanced commands, and shell scripting

7.Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, or JavaScript

8.Building highly-scalable performant solutions
