Position Description:

  • Connected Vehicle Platform and Product Team is looking for iOS/ANDROID MOBILE APP SOFTWARE ENGINEERS that embrace Lean/Agile and Extreme Programming practices.

  • In this environment, the Software Engineer is expected to work in a pair developing working, tested code across the full stack of technologies.

  • They will collaborate directly and continuously with product managers and designers, and business partners to release early and often.

    Responsibilities:
    Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
  • Produce fully functional mobile applications writing clean code Gather specific requirements and suggest solutions

  • Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions

  • Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance

  • Liaise with Product development team to plan new features Ensure new and legacy applications meet quality standards

  • Research and suggest new mobile products, applications and protocols

  • Stay up-to-date with new technology trends

  • Developing hardware integrations in Android/iOS with in-vehicle technologies/modules

Skills Required:

  • Must have 2+ years professional experience developing software with proven development as a mobile developer

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is preferred

  • Experience programming in two or more of the languages including but not limited to: Objective C, C, C++, C#, Java, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go or Python.

  • Demonstrated interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.

  • Solid conceptual thinker with strong problem-solving skills

  • Organized and a self-starter

  • Excellent Java, and/or Kotlin skills is preferred

  • Excellent Objective C, and/or Swift skills is preferred

  • Experience with different frameworks and environments such as React

  • Native, Android Studio, Xcode, and VS Code is preferred

Skills Preferred:

  • Proven experience in the full mobile application design, development, and deployment lifecycle, including debugging

  • Understanding of design principles for iOS

  • Understanding of testing considerations for mobile applications

  • Familiarity with connecting to RESTful back-end services

  • Passion for working on the latest technologies

  • Highly effective in working with other technical experts, Product Managers, UI/UX Designers and business stakeholders

  • Possess an innovation mindset

  • Experience with manual/automated testing, and an interest in test driven development (TDD) or willingness to learn

  • Strong communication skills and interest in a pair-programming environment

Experience Required:
2+ years of android or iOS application development experience

Education Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Education Preferred:

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
