The Role

Excellence

  • Systems development using .NET, C#, MVC, ASP.NET, Web API, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

  • Design and code solutions based on team input using specified programming languages, tools, and techniques

  • Deliver unit-tested systems in a timely fashion that meet requirements.

  • Work with team to define detailed solutions for specific requirements.

  • Provide analysis for technical solutions based on requirements.

  • Provide consultative services on technical issues to clients and internal project teams.

  • Participate in development of system test plans.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Keep abreast of latest developments regarding effective procedures, methods, and tools in software development and testing.

  • Note: Limited travel may be required at times.

People

  • Work closely with team members in a partnership to deliver the best results to the client.

  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with individuals at all levels

  • Assist team members in whatever way necessary to reach successful completion of the tasks at hand

Clients

  • Communicate effectively with product owner and project teams to ensure solutions are complete and clearly communicated to the end users and stakeholders.

  • Be available and responsive to system issues.

  • Improve team performance by managing the identification and documentation of project scope changes.

Financial

  • Work with the team to monitor progress against all sprint deliverables and development daily plans to complete the work.

  • Manage expectations and set personal capacity to the team.

The Requirements

  • 2+ years development experience.

  • Proficient experience using .NET, C#, MVC, ASP.NET, Web API, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular JS and Amber.

  • Degree (Associates or Bachelors) in computer science, management information systems or related area strongly preferred. High school diploma required

  • Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum framework and Kanban preferred

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced collaborative team environment that has tight deadlines.

  • Ability to learn and evaluate new tools, concepts, and challenges quickly.

  • Customer service focus and flexibility in supporting customer requests.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Be available, at times, to work extended work hours.

  • Background in benefits administration a plus.

The Role * Participates in the development of solutions to solve our clients' Pension benefits needs in a team-based environment. * Creates both technical and functional end user documentation. * Implements coding practices consistent with defined conventions. * Develops and executes comprehensive test plans for system implementations. * Provides valuable insights in development code reviews. * Performs unit and comprehensive testing for overall quality assurance of functional and technical quality of deliverables. * Defines and updates system tables as needed. * Tracks the project status and communicates status to scrum team as appropriate. * Maintains project issues log to track ongoing items for review and resolution by project team. * Actively participates in all sprint meetings (Planning, Grooming, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review and Retrospectives). * Alerts scrum team about out-of-scope work in a timely manner. * Works with scrum team to identify project deliverables and meets established deadlines. * Assists in developing standardized work processes, tools, and methodologies that improve quality and profitability. * Works closely with scrum team members in a partnership to deliver the best results to the client. * Participates in developer and/or business analyst meetings and consistently promotes teamwork in all daily activities. * Mentors/Coaches other development team members. The Requirements * Must have a minimum of one of solid experience working within the Pension domain * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related area. * At least two years of relevant work experience * Experience or training in: RDBMS, SQL, Web-based applications and tools * Experience with test plan creation, testing procedures and test plan execution * Experience with Agile/Scrum development lifecycle preferred * Ability to work on "virtual" teams with members from different geographic areas * Ability to multi-task, and be mindful of deadlines. * Self-motivated and ability to remain focused on assigned projects. * Committed to quality and continuous improvement EOE, including disability/vets Willis Towers Watson Philadelphia PA
