Collins Aerospace is currently seeking qualified candidates for a New Grad Software Engineering position in the Military Avionics Display Application Subsystems department.

This engineering position is targeting a driven individual who is passionate about the aviation industry, strives to challenge and apply their abilities, and desires to work with a collaborative and innovative team to produce superior quality flight display software.

This position would expose you to a variety of tasks across the life cycle of display application software, including but not limited to design, requirements development, software code generation, integration, test/verification, and documentation related to flight display software performed in a cross-functional team.

Qualifications:

  • Requires theoretical knowledge typically obtained through University Degree.

  • Limited to some knowledge of UTC organization.

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 3 years prior relevant experience.

  • The ideal candidate should have some experience with C/C++, ADA, Python, Matlab or similar programming languages.

  • Passion for aerospace and aviation

Overview The ideal candidate will conduct tests, debug control and diagnostic systems, and conducts research. You will measure and analyze software designs, implements procedures to support hardware and software product development, and operates equipment. Responsibilities: * Conducts tests and performs debugs of control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. * Conducts disciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems and commercial software. * Measures and analyzes software designs for equipment/products to ensure current and future needs of the business are met. * Builds and implements procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and functions. * Operates equipment and computer systems for testing and software design purposes to facilitate operations and ensure that established objectives are achieved. * Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. * Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. * Determines end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition. * Ensures hardware and software standards are met. * Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use. * May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use. * May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards. * Includes control modeling (model based design). Qualifications: * This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required. * Bachelor's degree in a STEM field is preferred. * This position may require you to work in a restricted facility that requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence (Green Card). * Fluent in a wide variety of programming languages, with a preference for knowledge of C, C++, or Python. * Knowledge of good software design and knowledge of proven design patterns. * Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts. * Ability to capture, trace and modify requirements.
