The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for managing and leading the design and development of major Sage Intacct platform and API capabilities. This role will provide guidance to other team members and drive the overall process of development and delivery. The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team very senior engineers building next generation of RESTful API and core infrastructure capabilities with high quality. The candidate should have prior technical lead experience along with experience leading a team for execution.

Sage Intacct is built on a scalable, extensible platform that enables rapid application development. Principal engineers help to create these benefits and ensure that major projects build on and do not detract from the overall architecture.

Major features often involve a deep understanding of the financial and accounting implications of the changes that will result, including the impact on reports and usage.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Product Management to understand design and feature trade-offs

  • Stimulate hiring, training, performance reviews and career plans for software engineering team

  • Contribute and drive technical designs and at times requirements

  • Help define and implement software development processes

  • Facilitate software development team accomplish optimal team performance

  • Assist removing technical obstacles, help enhance team processes, handle resource issues and interact with various members to assure sprint iteration and successful product release.

  • Report on project schedule and progress on weekly basis

  • Review functional specifications and designs

  • Lead a team of extraordinary engineers by team building, mentoring, project and deliverable management

  • Work with QA to ensure the quality of the features, including the creation and maintenance of test cases

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in computer science, engineering or related degree. MS degree is a plus.

  • 3+ years of management experience with 10-15 years of overall engineering experience

  • Excellent leadership skills working with and resolving people related issues, as well as technical

  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Solid background working with REST and SOAP web services

  • Experience working with third party developer communities or partners for integrating API's

  • Experience building highly scalable, multi-tenant, reliable and performant platforms

  • Experience with hosted or public cloud SAAS applications

  • Excellent communication skills and close attention to detail

  • History of shipping high-quality, well-designed software products

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

VIEW JOBS 2/16/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-16T00:00 This Is What You'll Do: In this role, you'll collaborate with our adventurous team of automation engineers on the full stack development of automation software for ECU test deployment. You'll be utilizing hardware and measurement abstraction drivers, building sequence/scripting tools, and building/deploying custom applications to remote sites.
