You will be a Software Engineer for Skunk Works. We are a Modeling and Simulation Team within the Integration & Test (I&T) Organization and are responsible for the development, integration and test of the Modeling and Simulation capabilities that support Integration and Testing of a Skunk Works software product in multiple environments.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Software Engineer you will be responsible for development, integration and test of the Modeling and Simulation environment in which our software product is exercised.

Responsibilities include:

  • Architect and implement Modeling and Simulation features that may be easily substituted with real equipment and hardware.

  • Develop and maintain AFSIM plugins and scenarios.

  • Hardware and system integration, non-AFSIM software development.

  • Communicating software architecture in a graphical format (i.e. UML) and CI-CD pipeline management.

You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline. (Computer Science or

Computer Engineering preferred)

  • Experience with programming software

languages such as C++, Python and/or Java.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming

Principles

  • Experience with Linux Operating Systems

  • Experience with Git Software version control

  • Rhapsody, MagicDraw or other model-based

software development

  • Agile Software Development Experience

  • Experience with Modeling and Simulation

environments / approaches

  • Experience with Linux Bash Scripting

  • Experience with Atlasian tool suite: Confluence,

Jira

  • Experience with GitLab Build and deployment

framework

  • An understanding of aircraft avionics

  • Ability to Travel

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships,

collaborate with others, engage in constructive

conflict, and manage interpersonal dynamics

  • Strong decision making and judgment

  • Oral and written communication skills

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
