We are currently building an army of curious and motivated Full Stack Engineers to join our summer internship program!

Our new summer internship is CPT & OPT-friendly, with opportunities for outstanding interns to join Odoo as full-time employees!

As a Full Stack Engineer intern, you will work alongside our awesome engineering team to write and implement code within our client databases, and streamline their businesses with Odoo. You'll be able to suggest customizations (and work on modifications) to our apps, based on each client's individual needs.

You'll also have access to multiple company departments, with opportunities to collaborate and consult on exciting projects.

  • Collaborate across departments to consult and write development requests for client solutions

  • Design & develop effective and scalable integrated solutions within Odoo (or third party application integration)

  • Troubleshoot, debug, fix, and upgrade software to ensure client software solution works robustly in the field

  • Adhere to and promote best software programming practices such as coding standards, code and design reviews and test coverage

  • Support any migration and software refresh activities

  • Assist on ad hoc projects (as needed)

Coding Requirements

  • Pursuing (or recently completed) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree in similar field

  • Project experience in Frontend languages, such as Javascript, HTML, CSS (or equivalent)

  • Experience working with any Object-Oriented programming language, such as Python or Java

  • Familiarity with database architecture and design concepts (UML/ERD)

  • Ability to debug and optimize existing tailored solutions

  • Unix/Linux platform

Nice to Have

  • Professional technical communication and writing ability

  • English fluency

  • Any additional languages(Spanish, French, Portuguese)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk long distances over uneven terrain and sit for extended periods of time; reach for tools and objects with hands and arms; climb in the back of vehicles; stoop, kneel, or crouch; in all types of weather conditions. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and be able to demonstrate how to properly use basic mechanic tools. The employee must be able to demonstrate proper welding and cutting techniques indoors and outdoors.</p><p>Primary Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety and operations</p></li><li><p>Inspect car components for compliance with AAR and FRA standards</p></li><li><p>Obtain information from computer regarding car components, destination, lading, and repair records and/or to file data such as repair information, bad orders, and car releases</p></li><li><p>Able to proficiently use cutting torch in all positions</p></li><li><p>Must qualify in SMAW and FCAW welding processes that include 2F, 3F and 4F positions.</p></li><li><p>Operate forklifts, light cranes, and car moving equipment</p></li><li><p>Operate various vehicles, maybe required to obtain CDL for operation of Rewheel truck.</p></li><li><p>Rerail cars and locomotives by using rerailing equipment and perform other work associated with wreck service on the railroad</p></li><li><p>Straighten, fabricate and replace steel parts such as: grab irons, handholds, ladders, ladder brackets, and sill steps</p></li><li><p>Repair, remove, or replace defective components such as wheels, safety appliances, truck and brake equipment, couplers, yokes, draft gears, and air brake valves; weld broken parts or secure new parts</p></li><li><p>Perform Class I brake test and Single car test in accordance with FRA Regulation 232</p></li><li><p>Inspect, measure, and secure lading in accordance with AAR open top rules</p></li><li><p>Perform other duties that may be assigned</p></li></ul><p>Skills/Abilities:</p><ul><li><p>Understand oral and written communication</p></li><li><p>Problem solving and troubleshooting skills</p></li><li><p>Time Management</p></li><li><p>Soft computer skills</p></li><li><p>Mechanical aptitude</p></li><li><p>Multitasking</p></li></ul><p>Minimum Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>High School Diploma/GED</p></li><li><p>18 years of age or older</p></li><li><p>Mechanical experience</p></li><li><p>Welding and fabrication experience</p></li></ul><p>Veterans and transitioning service members are encouraged to apply. During the training, trainees will be reimbursed for one round-trip and provided lodging and meal cards ($20/day).</p><p>Salary and Wages:</p><ul><li>1st 40 days of training: $18.81 (50% of Full rate)</li><li>Next 204 days of training: $28.21 (75% of Full rate)</li><li>Next 244 days of training: $30.09 (80% of Full rate)</li><li>After 488 days of training: $37.62 (100% of Full Rate)</li></ul><p>Work Conditions</p><p>Working hours will include shift work over all 3 shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are assigned/awarded by seniority.
