During FastPay's 8+ week paid summer internship program, you will gain working knowledge of the dynamic FinTech industry, work on meaningful projects, and have opportunities to network with executives and leaders throughout our organization.

This full-time program is designed primarily to educate and develop students eager to learn about technology and what it's like to be part of a financial technology company. Our program is well-suited for computer science, engineering, economics, finance/accounting, and business majors. Working with your personal internship coach, you'll be part of a primary work team as well as other projects designed to expose you to colleagues and work across various business functions of the organization including software development, sales, marketing, operations, and credit. You'll learn about current business processes, solutions to current business challenges, and new initiatives. You'll also be embedded in FastPay's collaborative culture, allowing for opportunities to build relationships on a social level by participating in the many fun events and activities that bring people together from all FastPay teams.

Program qualifications

  • Enrolled in a college or university in a Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related program seeking a bachelor's / master's degree

  • Displayed ability (either coursework or professional) of strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English (both written and verbal)

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Displayed ability with one or more of the following:

  • JavaScript (experience with ES6 syntax / Node.js is preferred)

  • Web Development technologies (HTML / CSS)

  • JavaScript front end frameworks (Ember (preferred) / React / Vue.js / Angular)

  • Server side frameworks (Node.js / Express / Restify)

  • SQL (PostgreSQL experience preferred)

  • Docker and related container technologies

  • AWS and its related technologies (ECS, EC2, S3, SQS, etc.)

What you'll do

The engineering team builds the software at the core of FastPay's business value. Engineering projects at FastPay range from securing financial transactions & business processes to automatic invoice classification through business intelligence and machine learning applications.
