Software Engineer in Test

Based on your experience in the application, testing, and installation of software products, assist the ThingWorx team in bringing quality software products to market.

The mission of the Senior Software Engineer in Test is to build a first-class Test Automation and use Quality Assurance practices that help deliver world best of breed software to ThingWorx customers.

Day to Day:

  • Development and execution of test scripts and validation of test results (manual and automated)

  • Help establish and improve an automated test environment for user interface (UI) and non-UI testing

  • Educate and mentor team members on test automation as needed

  • Participate in load or performance testing, writing automated test cases as necessary

  • Work with developers to identify, analyze and document defects, questionable functions, errors and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, online screens, content and security

  • Follows QA and risk analysis testing procedures to ensure all software is defect-free, adheres to departmental standards and meets customer requirements

  • Follow the company's software development life cycle (SDLC) and participate in QA reviews, validation of requirements and specification documents

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Project Management tools, programming and scripting languages, automated testing tools and source code management tools

  • Proficient in Java or other object orientated programming language 5-7 years hand on experience

  • Proficient in JavaScript or other web scripting languages/tools (e.g. Perl, Ruby, Python)

  • Proficient with UI testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Protractor, Geb)

  • Proficient with REST based testing tools and DSL's (e.g. Mocha, RestAssured, SoapUI) a plus

  • Proficient writing automated tests for complex software applications

  • Proficient in a Continuous Integration environment (Jenkins, Bamboo)

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of software test experience for a web application software company

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in a related field of engineering or business administration

Bevi is a hardware+software company: our software controls the hardware that makes the Bevi function, and each Bevi has an embedded tablet connected to our cloud backend. As such, our Software Engineer in Test role is a dynamic, demanding, integral, and mission-critical role to the product’s function. As a Software Engineer in Test, you will be involved in all of our software and hardware.</p><p>What you will do:</p><ul> <li>Work closely with the software team to create automation test framework to ensure the quality of software releases</li> <li>Ensure service level standards by responding to and escalating production issues involving our mobile, cloud and web software</li> <li>Use data analysis techniques to find the root cause of problems and suggest fixes to software team</li> <li>Continuously monitor the stability and performance of our machines and services.
