Software Engineer III

Overview Paychex North America Inc. seeks a full time Software Engineer III at our offices located at 135 Calkins Road, Rochester, NY 14623. Job Title:

Software Engineer III Job Duties: Work on application development projects using Agile methodology, performing requirements analysis and providing input to requirement documents as well as designing, developing and implementing web and service based applications using C#, .Net and Javascript. Responsibilities Duties include:

Mentor agile team developers. Provide senior level technical guidance to the agile team developers. Assessment and delivery of architectural investigation items.

Provide formal training to development teams for progressive technologies. Leadership level participation in agile sprint planning sessions. Partner with architects to ensure release deliverables match code in deployment.

Perform Unit Testing, Support for Integration Testing and agile backlog status reporting. Development of company's customer-facing websites, including: • Enhance user interface using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript Libraries, including jQuery and AngularJS. • Design and build out framework for Angular directives, services and UI components • Server-side component design, development and testing using Java/Spring framework. • Develop and enhance REST API using .Net Web API. • Resolve defects and perform feature enhancement to ASP .Net web application. • Create database objects in SQL server database and develop SQL queries. • Troubleshoot build issue related to Jenkins, AQG, and XLD. Work with Agile/SCRUM methodology on a day-to-day basis, including: • Define development tasks and provide estimates to aid in scheduling and monitoring progress against task estimates. • Perform peer source code reviews using code collaborator. • Implement best practices for performance tuning and optimization of application code.

Defect resolution and tracking. Develop advanced software framework components, providing guidance to teammates regarding libraries and framework as a subject matter expert. Research new software and platform technologies and make recommendations for adoption.

Define development task for automation tests and provide estimates to aid in scheduling and monitoring of the automation suite. Monitor the automation test for all environments to ensure the integrity of the system. Qualifications Position requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equiv.) in Computer Science, Information Systems or closely related field plus 5 years of experience in any software development role. In the alternative, Employer will accept a Master's degree (or foreign degree equiv.) in Computer Science, Information Systems or closely related field, plus 3 years of experience in any software development role. Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include: 3 years of experience designing and developing applications and enterprise level service endpoints utilizing C#, SQL, HTML5, and JavaScript 3 years of experience writing unit tests and integration tests utilizing MOQ, and jasmine; 3 years of experience working with cloud-based platform and version control software; 3 years of experience working in an Agile environment; and 1 year of experience working in ReactJs and Gauge test framework.

*Position is eligible for Employee Referral Program. Salary: $131,352 - $136,352 per year.

Compensation In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $131,352-$136,352 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
