About the Role
The Software Engineer focused on developing tools and systems. Following an automation first approach, you will develop small to medium sized internal solutions, enabling our Information Security teams to improve efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of their workloads, allowing them to focus on tangible threats to the organization that require human interaction. Collaborating across Information Security and wider technology teams, you will help identify areas for improvement and effectively manage product backlogs to help meet ever increasing workloads, compliance and regulatory requirements.
Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in cybersecurity, maybe serving as a security champion in a previous role, and experience within Agile software development, secure software development lifecycle and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Position will be by Hybrid reporting to our Atlanta, GA Office or the Raliegh, NC Office. Preference to Candidates in the Eastern Time Zone
Requirements:
Proficient in development/scripting languages, including but not limited to: Python, HTML, Javascript, Java, GO, .NET, SQL, etc.
Experience with Azure Cloud technologies, such as: Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure Cognitive Search, Blob/Table Storage, etc.
Research skills with knowledge of industry software development best practices
Ability to interface competently, and effectively collaborate with internal and external technical personnel, team members and resources for finalizing requirements and other development-related activities
Knowledge of data manipulation languages, data modelling principles, normalization and data storage subsystems & optimization techniques
Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity
Good problem-solving experience with ability to solve simple bug fixes
Desire to learn new processes and technologies
Basic oral and written communications skills
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with teams across Information Security and wider technology to define solution requirements by understanding product requirements and translating into software designs
Demonstrate strong secure development processes, coding best practices and code reviews, while adhering to company policies and standards
Implement and support threat modeling, as required for the secure software development lifecycle for tools and systems
Support strong QA/ security testing processes in line with industry best practice and company policy
Participate in an iterative development process, such as within stand ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning and team demos
Report progress metrics on a regular basis
