If so, we are searching for someone like you to join our team of experts in support of the Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS) at Maxwell-Gunter AFB, Alabama.
ARMS tracks training and qualification of aircrew members and parachutists. ARMS provides operations management data to support implementation of flight management policies and ensures status of flying programs are available to operations managers for resource allocation decisions.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The successful candidate shall perform work that applies to a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of software engineering to include but not be limited to reviewing, preparing, and analyzing all types of documentation: Planning, requirements, design, V&V, support and test. Also includes source code, configuration files, and engineering resolution support.
Responsibilities may also include but not be limited to:
Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions;
Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code;
Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming;
Improve operations by conducting systems analysis;
Recommend changes in policies and procedures;
Obtain and license software by obtaining required information from vendors, recommending purchases, testing, and approving products;
Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues;
Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed;
Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users;
Study systems flow, data usage, and work processes;
Investigate problem areas;
Follow the software development lifecycle.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Active Secret clearance
BA/BS, 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 3 of which must be in the DoD; or 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, 5 of which must be in the DoD
Highly proficient with computers and software applications to include MS Office product (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Expert attention to detail; highly organized
Strong verbal and written communication skills
