Overview
As part of the Foundational Technology
As a Software Engineer II, you'd be part of a skilled and motivated team, building, maintaining, and improving the Kubernetes platform public and private cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimum operational reliability and secure workload execution, while offering a streamlined experience to application developers.
What you'll do
Design and develop platform abstractions for Kubernetes on hybrid cloud infrastructure using Crossplane, Go, Python, and Argo tools
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Engage / collaborate with external technical teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables
Provide on-call support, troubleshoot issues in production and non-production environments.
Document technical design decisions, development processes, user guides, and runbooks.
Operate independently with guidance from senior developers. Mentor and provide support to junior developers.
Continuously learn and stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in Platform Engineering technical domain. Apply this knowledge to improve Kubernetes Engineering deliverables.
Who You Are
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science or comparable field, or equivalent self-study
At least 2+ years of experience working on Kubernetes clusters
At least 3+ years of application software development experience
At least 2+ years of experience with developing containerized workloads
An ownership mentality and can produce quality results with little direct supervision
Experience using GitOps Tooling and CICD Pipelines
Cloud automaton tooling and scripting experience
Experience in REST and/or gRPC API development and implementation
Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
Understanding of Lean Startup or Agile development methodologies
Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Lucid and similar tools
Preferred
Experience with large scale Kubernetes cluster life cycle management and cluster security
Experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure, including GCP, AWS and OpenStack
Cloud automaton tooling and scripting experience
Experience in Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development
Familiar with Encryption, Logging, and Privacy/Security Protocols (e.g. TLS 1.2, ELK stack)
