Citizens Bank is seeking experienced and energetic software developers to join our Consumer Automation team and be part of our digital transformation journey. As a software engineer, you will work with a group of talented engineers as you pursue a broad range of initiatives. By leveraging your technical skills and thirst for innovation, you will produce disruptive technologies that will ensure Citizens market leadership.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Designs automated solutions in accordance with enterprise leading practices and design principles

  • Assists in the collection and documentation of solution design requirements

  • Builds and test automation processes including integration and unit testing

  • Analyzes and resolves automation software issues where required

  • Participates in peer review of solution designs

  • Supports business process owners during user acceptance testing

  • Identifies and communicates risks associated with process automation candidates

  • Supports skills transfer by mentoring newly trained resources on best practices and development techniques

  • Supports investigation and remediation of production level issues

  • Supports production deployments processes and performance testing

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in software development

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment, strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Understanding of multiple programming languages, including at least one front end framework (Angular/React/Vue), such as Python3, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Golang, C, C++, etc.

  • 6 months+ hands on experience programming automation software

  • Knowledge of business process modelling and reengineering

  • Understanding of workflow based logic and the ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram and to conceptualize it as an automated solution

  • Possesses good communication skills with the ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience

  • Awareness of standard SDLC processes (e.g., agile, waterfall, etc.) and change control disciplines

  • Awareness of API's and how to work with them

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Understanding of the banking industry, specifically the functions of custodial and consumer banking

  • Experience with collecting requirements, creating software designs and developing efficient implementations

  • Familiarity with full-stack development

  • Understand data structure concepts such as linked lists, dictionaries, arrays, custom object creation, etc.

  • Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline

  • Experience with more than one process automation software including Blue Prism, Jira, Automation Anywhere, NICE, UiPath, OpenSpan

  • Experience in an Agile environment

Hours and Work Schedule

Hours per week: 40

Work Schedule: 8:30am

  • 5:00pm, Monday

  • Friday

Duties: Design, develop and implement technology solutions to support banking operations. Improve overall product infrastructure and reliability by creating sound designs, robust implementations, and appropriate unit and regression tests for both front-end and back-end configurations and code. Assist in the development, implementation and management of technology-based business solutions to improve our clients' delivery approach. Code, test and implement configuration changes and assist in the design of software applications to meet both functional and technical requirements. Assist with production support issues when they arise. Participating in code and design reviews with network, infrastructure and solutions engineering teams to ensure that solutions meet current enterprise standards. Act as a domain expert and perform peer reviews to review configurations, code, and design technique of other local and offsite engineers. Qualifications Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field followed by five (5) years of progressive experience in the role offered or in a similar position. Full term of experience must include: Performance tuning and optimization of code and peer code reviews; Develop and design LOANIQ Inbound and Outbound Batches; Utilization of Loan IQ Data Model and Components; Loan IQ table maintenance; Participation in conversion projects migrating legacy applications to LOANIQ; Tuning Database and SQL for optimal performance, redesign and build the Schemas to meet optimal Performance measures; Utilization of various data loading techniques to migrate data from flat files to database tables; Creation of reconciliation framework for the Recon of data from two separate system; Utilization of JIRA or other ALM tools to create a productive, high quality development environment; Creating technical design document and articulating the data solutions to team members; and Utilization of PL/SQL features including stored procedures, functions, packages and other database objects for maintaining complex integrity constraints and implementing the complex business rules. Experience must also include: Installing LOANIQ application and patch installation on On-Premise Servers; and Participation in LOANIQ upgrade to facilitate compliance with Banking regulations.
