The Automation Engineer is responsible for automating business processes and tasks. The Automation Engineer will interface with professional teams to analyze, develop, and test Chat Bot and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions using multiple automation platforms and technologies.

Job Function:

  • Design and develop solutions utilizing Chat Bot, RPA, and other automation technologies

  • Maintain technical responsibility for project delivery

  • Analyze, understand, and document the business processes in detail where required

  • Identify and communicate the technical infrastructure requirements

  • Support the operational teams during development, testing, implementation, and production

  • Follow Information Technology department processes and implement change requirements as part of a structured change control process

  • Ensure quality of coded components

  • Design and enforce coding standards, policies, and procedures

  • Create and maintain solution documentation

  • Consult with partners to provide functional and technical expertise in areas including solution design, development, testing and risk identification/mitigation

  • Create and document test procedures and scenarios

  • Collaborate with other automation developers and IT practitioners

Minimum Requirements:

College degree in a Technical or related field and 0-2 years professional level experience; or 4 years professional level related Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Technical experience required.

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrable understanding of and exposure to Chat Bot technology

  • Trained on RPA tools (e.g. Blue Prism/AutomationAnywhere/others)

  • Ability to demonstrate successful delivery and support of configuration/scripting technology

  • Understanding of workflow-based logic and the ability to understand a business process from a workflow diagram and to conceptualize it as an automated solution

  • Willingness and ability to blend business analysis with hands-on configuration of automated processes

  • The ability to learn quickly and progress rapidly from theoretical exercises to real world delivery

  • Good communication skills with the ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience; both written and verbal

  • Good written skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation

  • An aptitude for analysis, evaluation, and problem solving, with the ability to take a logical route to the source of an error

  • A self-starter who delivers high quality work and can adapt to new challenges, either on their own or as part of a team

VIEW JOBS 7/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-10-10T00:00 The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is the administrative arm of the Arkansas Supreme Court. The Court Information Systems Division is responsible for providing technological support to the States courts, maintaining accurate information regarding court case loads, and for providing and supporting automated jury and case management and related online applications to Arkansas courts. The AOC Software Engineers are responsible for developing and supporting AOC applications including standalone, client-server, Oracle Form and web-based applications. Software Engineers are also responsible for developing and executing data conversion and migration programs between disparate systems. Software Engineers are required to be competent users of the applications for which they are providing development and support, and experts in the technologies used to develop judicial branch applications. Strong SQL and Object Oriented Programming skills are a requirement for this position. A skills test that may consist of SQL, PL/SQL, HTML, and Java will follow the in-person interview. Typical Functions Work with application design team to develop scope and specifications of applications and reports. Design, code, debug, and test application software and reports. Monitor, optimize and tune applications and reports for maximum performance. Troubleshoot user-reported application and report issues. Analyze and code for conversion of data between applications and databases. Work with Computer Support, Application Support and Regional Support Groups to provide technical assistance to application users when needed. Document and report on daily progress, procedures and activities. Maintain application and report documentation. Special Job Dimensions The Software Engineers have regular contact with elected court officials and court staff, department staff, other state agency/institutions personnel. As representatives of the AOC, the Software Engineers must maintain a high degree of integrity, decorum and respect for court personnel at all times and possess the ability to communicate with court personnel on all levels. These positions work closely with AOC technical and non-technical staff to develop and maintain applications that will be used by members of the judiciary and the public. Software Engineers are assigned to the Software Group and report to the Development Manager. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Knowledge of application design and development methodologies, including change and version control. Knowledge of application development in Linux and Windows server operating system environments. Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL. Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming languages and development methodologies. Knowledge of database design. Knowledge of state-of-the art programming and development techniques. Ability to develop reports using Oracle Reports, Crystal Reports, and Jasper Reports. Ability to develop applications using Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML, Python, Oracle Forms, and .NET framework. Ability to develop, optimize and maintain applications. Ability to effectively multitask. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to perform mathematical calculations and to analyze and evaluate application performance data. Ability to provide application support in person and by telephone or e-mail to judicial branch employees. Ability to write and execute program design specifications. Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with court and non-court, legal and non-legal, technical and non-technical persons. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and/or Experience Education The Software Engineer must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field. Preferred Qualifications Relevant advanced technical certifications, and experience managing applications in an Oracle RAC and web-based environment are highly desired. Knowledge of Arkansas court systems and understanding of the use of technology in court applications is highly desirable.
