The Software Design Engineer develops and implements object-oriented software in a small development team environment. This position is responsible for implementing coding, software documentation and testing under the guidance of senior software colleagues.

Coding and broad knowledge of software applications will enable successful software deployment for development, test and production activities. This position interacts with electrical, test, and production personnel.

Major Position Responsibilities

• Designs and develops software applications.

• Performs coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.

• Determines systems software design requirements

• Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency

• Generates systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures

Basic Qualifications

Required Education: Associates Degree

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Discipline/Major: Engineering Degree required

Years of Experience: 0-3 Years

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Debugging. Programming. Software Design.

Software Development. Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Software Engineering. Software Requirements Specification.

Software Testing. Application lifecycle management (ALM) Software. Bug Tracking Software.

Integrated Development Environment (IDE) Software. Source Code Management Software. Programming Language.

Critical Professional Skills: -Perform programming with C/C++ required-Perform programming with LabVIEW, Visual Basic, C# and others (desired)-Perform programming with QT (for graphical user interfaces (GUI))-Possess knowledge for real-time embedded software applications -Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems
