Software Engineer I

Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for a Software Engineer I on our Agile Cyber Solutions team. In this role you will research, test, develop and transition superior defensive cyber capabilities that empower the war fighter, protect our homeland, and provide a revolutionary advantage to our enterprise customers. U.S. citizenship is required.

How You'll Succeed

You'll succeed buy developing, debugging and testing different software solutions with oversight from senior technical staff. You'll develop software for both Linux and Windows environments as well as embedded systems and will assist in the development of user manuals and training materials. You'll investigate and help provide solutions to technical issues both individually and as a contributing team member to an agile environment of developers, testers, and investigators.

Who You Are

You're a curious engineer who is excited about providing creative solutions to advance software performance from design to development of novel capabilities. You're able to assist with the implementation of solutions with guidance of senior members of a development group and you're comfortable communicating project status through reports and meetings.

Your Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, with 0-1 years' experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience

• Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance

• Minimum of 6 months experience in C, C++ and Python.

• Minimum of 6 months experience in scripting language development, debugging and testing.

• Experience with:

• PowerShell development

• Red Team Development (preferred)

• Penetration testing (preferred)

• Windows protocol handshakes and remote administration of Windows systems

• JavaScript, CSS, HTML and R (preferred)

• You've had exposure to software development lifecycles including version control such as git, development operations, regression testing and documentation of research processes and results

• You have knowledge of automated testing software including REST API testing

US Salary Range: $87,000- 122,000

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location, skills and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
