Job Description
Danfoss software is seeking an Application Software Engineer for embedded control systems to design, develop, and support solutions in the agriculture, construction, and material handling off-highway mobile markets. The Embedded Application engineer is part of a global team responsible for integrating Danfoss hydraulic and electronic components into complete machine control systems. The candidate will contribute to all phases of development including requirement capturing, specification development, design, software development, and validation / verification.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Program solutions on the mobile machines to control driving, steering, and work functions as well as operator displays
Program solutions to control vehicles autonomously with obstacle detection, obstacle avoidance, and path following, etc…utilizing our Danfoss autonomous libraries
Program in C, PLC languages, and Graphical Programming languages (such as LabVIEW, Simulink)
Design and implement vehicle serial communication protocols such as CAN, J1939, or CANOpen
Facilitate the development of specifications with internal and external customers
Take part in machine start-ups at customer sites
Participate in design reviews, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Safety Analysis, and Hazard and Risk Assessments
Ability to travel up to 10%

Required (basic) qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical, Computer engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
Embedded software experience including knowledge of software processes, design, and test practices
Fluent in C/C++ and exposure to graphical programming languages
Effective project management skills with proven ability to implement change, engaging others in the organization as necessary
