We currently have an opportunity for an SOFTWARE ENGINEER ETL (DATA PROGRAM). This is 5+ months contract opportunity. I have included a brief description below on what the Client is seeking:

Position Description

This position is responsible to follow established software development standards and policies. Design, develop, implement, test, and analyze software programs and applications.

This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The software engineer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required.

Collaborate with project leads, business analysts, end users and third party contacts to design, implement and test software applications.
Collaborate with other engineers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications.
Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects.
Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications.
Research and document requirements of software users.
Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.
Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
Install software products for end users as required.
Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or appearance of company Web site and/or related Web applications as necessary.
Collaborate with other members of the IS department to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
Other projects and duties as assigned.Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five or more years of experience in assessing and cultivating long-term strategic goals for Data Warehouse and other enterprise development in conjunction with end users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Experience in developing ETL design guidelines, standards and procedures to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure across the enterprise.Experience maintaining the ETL metadata repository in a multi-user environment.
Preferred Experience

Experience working in healthcare.
Experience working with BO Data Services.

The Wells Fargo Enterprise Information Technology's Data Technology Team team is looking for a Senior ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) Production Support Engineer to support the operations of multiple Enterprise scale Data Warehouse applications within the Production Support Shared Service organization. This position has the primary responsibility of providing Level 2 production support, analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving production job failures, data research, recommending and implementing code fixes as well as coordinating with the ETL Development, Database, and Business Analyst teams within each application team. Key Responsibilities include: * Primary production support for analytical data ETL jobs within the data warehouse application environment * Troubleshoot and analyze complex production problems related to source data * Troubleshoot and analyze existing Ab-initio code as well as fix the Ab-initio code to resolve production incidents * Collaborate with the business analysts and ETL team members to resolve complex data design issues/provide optimal solutions that meet business requirements and benefits system performance. * Follow all enterprise software development lifecycle processes and standards * Develop and foster a positive relationship with team members, team leads and business partners * Develops and updates documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides * Strictly follow change and incident management processes * Participate in design reviews and ensure application of best practices and standards * Review ETL code for consistency, quality and performance * Be willing to work non-standard business hours on an on-call basis in a 24x7x365 environment * Implement best practices for production environments * Review release code in lower environments and ensure they follow production standards. * Encourage and participate in knowledge sharing as necessary Required Qualifications * 7+ years of application development and implementation experience * 8+ years of information technology experience * 5+ years of data warehouse experience * 5+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience * 5+ years of relational database experience * 2+ years of job scheduling experience * 1+ years of Unix Bash shell scripting experience * 1+ year of Big Data experience Desired Qualifications * Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills * A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology * Job scheduling tools experience * Knowledge and understanding of incident management: gathering impacts and analyzing data Job Expectations * Flexibility to address incidents as needed 24 hours a day * Flexibility to frequently be on call beyond normal working hours Disclaimer All offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
