ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This role will make an impact by meeting the future needs of our FAA customer that includes securing data across networks in the enterprise.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The person in this position will work specifically with the TFDM Software Development Team using C/C++, Java, XML, Javascript, shell scripting, database concepts (Postgres and/or Oracle), GIS Tools, Red Hat Linux, Ada, Redmine, Git, and various homegrown tools.
TFDM Lab assignments and Data Collection is essential.
Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people
Perform Data collection, Software Installations, and Workstation Backups.
Perform adaptation/software analysis and implement code fixes, adaptation changes, and new functionality.
Perform peer/code reviews.
Ability to work individually and within a group/team.
Ability to take direction and initiative; ability to provide direction and training.

Required:
degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30)
semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and
computer science and fifteen (15) years of related work experience in
a computer science or math field OR Master's Degree in any field of
study with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either
undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twelve (12) years related work experience in a computer science or math field. OR PhD or Doctorial in a related field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and three (3) years of related work experience in
a computer science or math or math field.
Technical Adapter/Software Developer with knowledge in C/C++, Java, XML, Shell Scripting, Java Script, Database Concepts, UNIX/LINUX, and the ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.
All candidates are required to have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work in a fast paced and challenging environment.
Preferred:
Technical Adapter/Software Developer with the required knowledge plus Ada, Perl Scripting, Python, Geographic Information System (GIS) Tools, and Red Hat Linux.
In addition, experience in TFDM/STARS/NAS, Test, Redmine (or another project management tool), Git (or another configuration management tool), and Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).
