Software Engineer

Software Engineer Overview:

The Software Engineer will implement and support enterprise level software solutions for Mediant Communications Inc. The ideal candidate will be able to work within a small technical team to analyze understand and implement business requirements. Candidates must have strong skills in architecting Java software solutions, query writing, and stored procedure development. Evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines or solve specific problems. Some travel may be required. This is a hybrid position and we are looking for someone to come into our Cary, NC office 3 times per week.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Software Engineer:

• Produce design specifications from provided business requirements.

• Develop and present technical implementation plans.

• Implement software solutions meeting corporate coding standards.

• Analyze applications, provide solutions for performance issues, solve complex problems.

• Provide support to QA department during both internal and external product testing.

• Perform developer testing ensuring delivery of accurate and reliable product delivery to Q.

Skills and Experience of the Software Engineer:

• 4+ years of experience in developing Java Software.

• 4+ years of J2EE application development experience (Servlets/JSP, JDBC, JavaMail, XML, XSLT, Velocity, Spring, Mybatis).

• Experience in web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX.

• 2+ years of relational database experience (Preferably MSSQL/TSQL).

• Proven ability to troubleshoot software application.

• Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills and solid interpersonal skills.

• Self-motivated and willing to learn and master new technologies.

• Solid written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to work in fast paced, high-pressure environment.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
